GSNC - Membership

As of January 2011, Garden State Netball Club will offer both full-time and part-time memberships.

Full-time members participate in volunteering, fund-raising, traveling, monthly meetings, decision-making, limited OR no out-of-pocket expenses (at games) and given benefits including basic insurance. Playing netball and competing are optional.
Part-time members simply play netball and compete. With the exception of refreshments at tournaments, no other expenses will be covered.

Our members come from diverse backgrounds, all with a shared interest in netball. GSNC initiatives are to support the interests of its members and the community.

To be a part of our organization:

1. We invite you to come and observe or train with us on a Tue or Thurs at 6:30pm to see if you are physically up to the challenge (Soverel Park, EO see training page for complete address). This trial period can only be done 3 times.

2. After trials, if you are interested in becoming a part of GSNC, you will be given a membership packet to read and decide if full-time membership or part-time membership is right for you. Fill out the appropriate pages and return with your one-time membership fee. Part time $15, full time $20.

3. Download a membership packet to expedite the process if you are ready to begin. Bring the applicable pages to either the monthly meeting or to training with the corresponding fees.

It is important to understand that we are not just any netball club. We are becoming a NJ Non-Profit Organization that operates like a business and we ask that you enter our club with an organizational mindset. As a full-time member, volunteering and fund-raising are integral elements of the club and they are the key elements on which the club was formed. Payments can be made by cash, credit/debit cards or check (payable to Garden State Netball Club).

Continuously, we will seek to provide members with activities and services that will allow them to accomplish the items below. You will:

Acquire opportunities to discuss ideas, solutions and experiences with team members
Build relationships and network with other Clubs and Businesses
Gain exposure and foresight in dealing with different communities
Obtain vital information not only to help you in netball, but to help your personal development as well

A team comprises a group of people or animals linked in a common purpose. Teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks.

A group in itself does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize his or her strengths and minimize his or her weaknesses. Team members need to learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential, and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond their limitations.
